Soulcalibur VI is the top selling game on Steam right now. I'm pleasantly surprised I have to say. It didn't seem like it had much hype going for it if Youtube views are anything to go by.
That's kind of surprising given how socially conservative Japan is. You'd think it'd be the other way around.
Let me guess, Inferno right? Since this is a retelling of the first few games Inferno as the boss would seem the most likely.
I don't know why people are naysaying already when the game was only just announced and we barely have any information yet. I doubt they're just going to leave out alternate costumes when every game so far has had them.
Since we know now that Namco is listening to us I think this is something we should talk about so they get an idea of what we're interested in for the next game. Anyway for me the Weapon Master mode in 2 was the best and I want to see something similar in 6. The single player missions should...
I've never been very impressed with it even when it debuted in SC3 so I'd rather them scrap it altogether and focus more on creating a great single player experience. The only way I'd be interested in character creation is if it had a lot more depth and if you could also customize their weapon...
That is true, but I'm mostly going by what other fighting games have done. Like in Mortal Kombat they've had Bo Rai Cho, Tanya, Tremor and Triborg, Rain and Kenshi as DLC even though none of them are hugely popular. It'd make more sense to have Scorpion or Reptile as DLC but they'd never do...
I don't know about you guys but I'm definitely worried about the single player being shallow in SC6. Other than Mortal Kombat 9 I can't think of any other recent fighting games that put any major effort into the offline modes. If we only get a longer version of SC5's story mode it's going to be...
Who do we want to be the slow, heavy-hitter in SC6? Astaroth, Rock, Bangoo or somebody else? I'd be fine with Rock coming back as long as he wasn't just an inferior Astaroth as he has been since the 3rd game.
I agree, but only if he's playable this time around. It would be a waste of time to design a fully-fledged movelist for an unplayable boss that you only fight against maybe a handful of times.
Who do you guys want to see as the final boss in 6? Doesn't matter too much to me although I don't want Algol again. He's got a unique movelist and that's cool but he's not "bossy" enough to me. The earlier bosses may have just been mimics or souped up versions of other characters but they were...
Guys, I don't think "historical accuracy" has anything to do with it. The developers are men, most people who play the game are men and so most of the characters are men and the female characters are made to be sexy. They're just appealing to their main demographic. Nothing wrong with that.
Okay, I'm sexist.
Adding new female characters if that's their creative goal is fine, trying to force gender parity is not. That's like if they said "Okay we need to add three lizard characters for the next game." Well what if they can only think of one? Doesn't matter because they said there...
Honestly I don't see any reason for the developers to worry about gender parity. If the game just happens to have an equal or close to equal number of women in it that's fine, but the developers shouldn't force it. They would be limiting themselves creatively if they did that.
I think to get...
I know an easy way to get to Night Terror using Sophitia. Just use her B, B combo over and over again on every opponent. The cpu will block the first hit but always get hit by the 2nd.
I'm guessing it was mostly casual players who voted in Namco's survey and core fans who voted in this new one because you can see some big differences like Talim barely making the top 10 and Cervantes scoring a lot higher.
The 3D Mortal Kombats were seen as failures because the gameplay was cumbersome and clunky and most of the new characters sucked. A good story can't save a fighting game from mediocre gameplay.
The average person may not play in tournaments but that doesn't mean they're not competitive. I play online and with buddies at home, and the single player is important too. Frankly I don't care one bit about Maxi trying to getting revenge on Astaroth for the umpteenth time or Siegfried and...
