Lol I miss a lot of his sciv moves. 44B was one of my favorite. Don't know, his moveset just doesn't work for me now lol. Good luck to you Raphael players though =]
SCIV and SCV Raph almost have the exact same moves. Cranial scraper was a cool move, but the current 44B is good too. I understand people have different preferences but SCV Raph is the best Raph so far compared to all of the past ones. Remember how bad Raph's verticals were in SCIV??
Lol, but he was more fun in SCIV than in SCV. I missed his old transition moves. Oh, and I hate his B+K in SCV. I liked the old B+K A that I could use instead. Why is he the best in SCV though? Don't know, I gave up on him so never looked into it. I can't work with chars that are boring. I tried, I really tried. He was my main since SCII but I really really hate his SCV moveset. Alot. xD
Well, for me his sc5 moveset is awesome. After getting used to this version I can't stand sc4 3A and 6BB anymore. His old movement is also not even comparable to now, It was very hard to space and punish anything. But maybe that's all because I wasn't around on the days he had four stances.
Ah yes, I agree that SCV Raph is better at spacing than his other iterations. But I've always been a mix-up kind of girl. I loved my transition stances and pressuring the opponent and Raph and Talim was perfect for me. I have to change my style with SCV Raph so that's probably why I don't like him.
His pressure game is still good cuz of his pokes. But I have Zwei for my Ein mix-ups/delays who's also good at guard bursting. Oh yea, I also HATE his personality in SCV lol. 236 AMY really got on my nerves x) Oh yea, do you have PSN Delloso? *Fendante, that's one sexy avatar ;D
Raph's main game changed in sc5, now he has to zone in order to have a chance against knowledgeable players, though some still argue that he can be a pressure based character even at high levels. Poor girl, you must miss Talim a lot. May I ask who you main in this game?
Haha thanks darkwings mwah. Well in SCV, Raph has a 22B and 33B mid low mixup for example. He didn't have this in SCIV. SCV Raph's has excellent 0 on hit lows (instead of minus) and plus frames on moves that used to be zero. 6BBB is faster now. His antistep is much better compared to the last game and overall he has more threatening verticals.
Lol hopefully I'll get my own PS3 sometime so I can play with you guys. Haha I think Zwei's cool but when I learned that Zwei was a favorable MU for Raph, I chose to stay with Raph.
I main Zwei in SCV because I like to confuse my opponents with Ein delays and traps and setups lol. It's similar to the way I played Talim with my pressure game. Too bad my wolf boy doesn't have any transitioning moves for his dumb Knife fiend stance (>P_P)
On the other hand, Raph is great at pressuring against opponents like Zwei. His 6BB cancels almost all of my moves lol.
Ah, thanks for the explanation Fendante. His 6BBB is certainly 10x better than the old one for sure. But I like his old 22B transitioning into SCIV B+K B. Prep is better though, in SCV xD
At least anything, I have Dumas/Nighty who has the Raph personality I like best. The jerk kind xD
Fendante, it's really funny actually. When I mained Talim, I could never beat that guy with her so I mained him and then really liked him and I laughed when they had a destined battle. Now in SCV, I can't beat him with Zwei either but his evil counterpart, Nighty, is my second main and they also sort of have a destined battle. Darn your 6BB agsinst Zwei xD
K, I'll add you Delloso (>^_^)
Haha I get you. The old 60 dmg 22B into VE B was a big loss since 22B is only a threat with CE, but 22B into 2A and then a throw/mid mixup is still strong. Also it depends on what you mean by Prep being "better" lol. It's more unsafe (ie can get destroyed by Bullrush) but has better mixup tools.
I actually had trouble with Talim in the past too until I learned to zone and interrupt certain strings. Still working on Nighty MU but I know Raph does pretty well against him too.
Prep for Mix-ups <3 Mix-ups <3 <3
Yea, Talim was easily interrupted (>T_T) unless the player was good and knows when to counter correctly with her, then she's very low-tier. Kura so far, was my favorite Talim player, I heard ZeroBeat was very good as well.
My Nighty is trash lol. I only use him against Ninjaguy's Viola because Zwei dies... pretty devastatingly against her. I did manage to get two perfects once but still lost :'(
Anyway, I thought the MU was still in Nighty's favor though. It's hard to punish Raph though, that's all I can say with Nightmare.
Darkwings, I won't be able to go online for a week. But I'll add you as soon as I can.
Fendante, I think prep in sc5 is high risk high reward. When I get back to online I will play DIME's nightmare and upload it to the video thread, so any tips against the character is appreciated
