The PSP 1001 is a good choice.

Oh, and SMS1996, don't bother buying a PSP Go. It's a waste of money.:P

I just got a PSP go.

A. The buttons are a lot smaller and just tap in like cell phone buttons.

B. The D pad does too. Diagonals on the D-pad could be a problem because you have to hit both buttons at the same time now. It's not a d-pad that's all one piece anymore.

C. I could see the thumbstick working, but won't know till I take the plunge and drop $40 on BD

I'm also going to buy a used PSP 2000 or 3000 for my wife and kids so we can still use our UMD's.

Strange declarations without explanation, eh? Two can play that game.

France is bad. Potatoes cause cancer. Obama's a Czechoslovakian-born Mormon. All so-called "reality" programming is 100% scripted, and brilliantly acted.

I'm thinking I want to get a PSP. It's been so long since i've had a portable gaming system... the last handheld i had was a gameboy color xD

You should just not buy a psp at all, especially not the new psp go crap. They really suck and I cant think of how horrible they would be for soul calibur..

i'd much rather have the PSP over the nintendo equivalent... a lot of the DS games are youth-oriented, and I prefer older audience games, such as the MGS franchise, GTA, etc.

That, and I have a PS3 (even though i don't use it very often).

So, it's clear that the PSP is the handheld for me. Console wise, for me it's all about Xbox, but handheld my choice is sony :)

model-wise, I'm set on the 3000 model, as it seems to offer what i want.

Random question: Can the PSP connect to PSN through your ps3? I don't have a wireless network, all my consoles and computers are connected via hardline.

You can download PSP content on your PS3 and save it to your PSP, which plugs in via the same cable as your controllers.
