ARGH i just realised that we didn't state which part of safra toa payoh the tourney is at. the venue is toa payoh room, it's on the 2nd floor of the new annexe. we'll have signage to lead people there, and you can ask the counter ppl where the toa payoh room is if you're really lost.

also, we're printing new soul sg t-shirts again!! the design is the same as before, and the cost should be about $12 a piece. please post here or PM me if you want a shirt!

on that note, another reason we're printing t-shirts is for publicity purposes; we're going to get whirow and rein to give them out during their hk trip to the people-in-charge as well as the sc hongkong community. :D we're planning to print about 6 to 7 of these shirts to give out to them, which will cost about $70-$80.

i'd greatly appreciate any contribution from the community towards this cost, but since this is more of a fringe thing, i'm definitely not insisting on any compulsory contribution from you guys. we'll go ahead regardless of contributions as i consider it an investment for the community, and at worst i'll just cover the bulk of the cost. but if you're interested in chipping in, let me know via here/sms/whatever and you'll be credited for your help! :D

hey all, as previously mentioned the event will start at 6pm. BUT we'll be setting up at 5pm, and we'll be needing as many hands as possible.

therefore, for anyone who can make it down to safra toa payoh (toa payoh room) at 5pm, PLEASE do so. more people helping out means we can get things done faster!

and just a reminder, if you have multiplugs/extension cords/lanyards PLEASE bring them, as many as possible! in fact, if you can contribute these items, please come down at 5pm instead of 6pm, because we'll be needing them throughout the setup. and please label whatever you're contributing so that we can return the items safely to you!

Whoa....Singapore actually got people having SC4 competitions? I thought only in USA and Europe? :)

I'm a total noob (can't even do JFs and GIs), but it would be cool if we have a tournament so that I can be the audience. :)

nikar: hi! are you a sg player? our community is pretty decent in terms of size, but not all of us play competitively. we usually have 16-man tourneys, but the size increases with demand :)

Hi, yes, I'm from SG (Jurong East area) but I don't think I'll participate now, because I can't even do GIs and don't know understand a lot of the basics, so I'll be just wasting my time and everyone's time. I can't even win against the CPU sometimes. :)

When I get better foundation, then I'll consider joining you guys, because it'll be fun to play with real people! In SG, not a lot of people play VS games, though.

Just come to one of our sessions anyway. You'll learn more than when you play against the CPU. Playing against the CPU will teach you bad habits. Online is okay if you only play local players.

yep we'll be having lots of casual play in addition to the tourney, so don't worry about skill level or whatever :)

LOL, thanks, and good idea! I think I'll try playing against some SG players online first (if there are any). Hope the lag between local players in SG isn't so bad.

It's like playing badminton mah....if two person play and one of them can't even serve or keeps dropping the shuttlecock, then it won't be fun.
