Went to a Lock-In at the local arcade and it was surprisingly good times. Played a lot of MvC2 and DDR. The DDR Machine actually worked way better than expected. There was talk of a possible tournament. I asked the manager what the deal was with the tournament and he said if more than 8 people were interested then there would be one. After asking around, 12 people were interested. So, we figured why not.
Results: 1. MysticBill(Raph) 2. Ora(Sophie) 3. Anduril1600(Asta) 4. Max(Cass) 5. Peter 5. Bubba 7. Patrick 7. Kevin 9. Aaron 9. Jimmy(Not Pika) 9. Derek 11. Cory Special Grats to Ora, coming off a not so hot performance in a tournament earlier that day, then losing the first round to Anduril1600(who beat her in a tournament a week ago) and fighting all the way back to beat him. Ora and Anduril1600: OMG you guys are way in each others head. And i can see the random Jimmy ducking influence in both of you. So many ducked throws, like whoa! You both have more to learn about the game and your characters. You both have to practice inputs more and more until you can do them without thinking. You both fought way hard and you both have great ambitions in your games which i know you guys will exceed. Keep it up! Maxx: Did pretty well. It is easy to see your potential. Keep working at it. Bubba: Good to see you again. Everyone else: It was nice to meet you all. Maybe i will see you at the arcade. Honestly, this night was much more fun than i thought it would be. $10 is pretty steep though, considering there was no food or prizes that money went towards. It was hard to play $10 worth of games in 4 hours, i just can't play that much ddr. I was also very surprised how much the manager let me do my own thing with the calibur tournament. Maybe after jimmy leaves us for Korea we will work out a venue at the arcade. Ora: Maybe hint that we are looking to maybe move our weekly tournaments to a cheap location maybe. See if thats a possibility. Also, look at the sound of ddr, i think it should be louder.

If tournaments move to Tilt, I'm out. I don't need that kind of aggravation.

Pray tell Bubba: what the Hell are you talking about? Or rather- what the Hell is it you think I'm talking about?
I'll tell you what my problem is, but first I want to hear how it is that I'm being a baby.

He always mouths off on the Internet. I could ask him about this nonsense the next time I see him, and he wouldn't have a thing to say for himself.
Bubba, I am going to come after you with a hermit crab.

Tilt is what happened when namco left town. I think its just a place to buy drugs now. They have games, but whats the point...

Since it looks like Bubba's balls have vanished as mysteriously as they appeared, I'll post my problem:
The problem isn't that Namco left town, the problem is that the old manager Jake Fisher left town. He was a nice guy with an appropriate (not lazy, not oppressive) work ethic, and he cared about the arcade. His replacement, Patrick, is a lazy, gay-bashing nasty thing who sometimes hires people even more hostile than he is. He takes NO pride in his work, and encourages the same attitude in his employees. His idea of a well-maintained game is one that works well enough to shut people up. One Initial D card slot is forever out of blanks, the card readers and PS2 ports on Tekken can go broken for years, quickly fixable dead spots in joysticks will stay broken for long stretches of time, games will sit dead, Soul Calibur 2's player sides don't have their buttons in symmetrical arrangements. Jake Fisher used to test every input on every game once a day. Down games were rarely seen, technical maintenance was encouraged from anyone who was capable of it, and everyone felt socially welcome there. Patrick should have been fired by his superiors long ago for his shitty technical practices, but the real reason no customer should go there is the abuse. Honestly, the Tilt corporation is to be commended for trying to keep the place running. It's unfortunate that Patrick's one quantifiable skill seems to be keeping that company snowed. Virtually every time I've had even the smallest dealings with him (the last time being two weeks ago), the man has managed to make me angry, and I haven't spoken a word to him since shortly after he started several years ago.

Bubba, stop being a twat and shut your trap. You abandoned our community. Since you choose to be an idiot and diss my friend, I will fucking make you limp and your ass sore, if you diss Caleb again. You have no right to say anything to Caleb and to me for that matter you homophobic <unt. Have you not forgotten what Patrick did to our SC and Tekken community and DDfuckingR community. Use your brain for crying out loud. |
