OK, I will give the very detailed results later, but we have recorded every match of the top 8, and anybody in this top 8 could have won the tournament. Most matches ended in the very last round, all super intense, crazy upsets, comebacks, it was just a great tournament.
There were 28 people signed up, and all of them used different characters. There were only 2 Voldos and 2 Astaroths, the other 24 were different characters in the cast, and all played very high level. In the end, Vlaster sent Omega to losers in the Semi-Finals with a 3-2 series. Omega faced Nando in the Losers Finals, resulting victorious in an extremely close match, 3-2 series, last match, last round. A very tense and nervous Omega fought his way to win the Caribbean Regional tournament with a 4-2, 4-2 victory over Vlaster. Those are the most intense matches ever! For those who are wondering if the vids will be up, I believe they will be up soon. I dont have the vids, but someone in the league does, and will take care of them soon. Lastly, the top 4 players are: 1. Omega (Zasalamel) 2. Vlaster (Nightmare) 3. Nando (Setsuka) 4. Mespower (Cassandra) I'm glad I took the chance and moved the Caribbean Regional to the Dominican Republic, because in my opinion, here are some of the strongest SC4 players in the world. On the other hand, in from Puerto Rico and it is sad that I didnt do the tournament at home. For next year, we should probably consider having both Puerto Rico and Dominican Republic as Regional locations. More details coming later, as I will be flying back to Puerto Rico in a few hours for Mothers Day and a little vacation. Thanks to DancingFighterG for giving me the opportunity to run this event. Unfortunately I wont be able to attend Nationals because this trip cost me more than I thought, but in the end, it was totally worth it, and if I could do it again next year, I would in a heartbeat.
